Data controller
Pro Handling Ireland is the data controller for any personal data collected through this site. Contact: hello@prohandlingireland.com.
What we collect
- Account information (name, email, password hash) to issue certification.
- Payment metadata (handled by Stripe — we never see card details).
- Basic analytics (page views, course progress) to improve the course.
Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data under the following Article 6 GDPR lawful bases: (a) Contract — to provide the course, issue your certificate and manage your account; (b) Legal obligation — to retain certification, tax and accounting records as required by Irish law; (c) Legitimate interests — to secure the platform, prevent fraud and improve the course through aggregated analytics; (d) Consent — for non-essential cookies and optional marketing communications, which you can withdraw at any time.
Sub-processors
We share the minimum personal data necessary with the following sub-processors, each bound by a Data Processing Agreement:
- Lovable Cloud / Supabase — authentication and database (EU region).
- Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. — payment processing and billing (Ireland / EU, with safeguards for limited US transfers).
- Resend — transactional email delivery (account, certificate and receipt emails).
- Cloudflare, Inc. — content delivery, DDoS protection and edge hosting.
- Privacy-friendly analytics — aggregated page views and course progress; no advertising profiles are built.
International data transfers
Your data is primarily stored and processed within the European Union. Where a sub-processor (for example Stripe or Cloudflare) processes data outside the EEA, transfers are protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and, where applicable, supplementary technical measures such as encryption in transit and at rest. You can request a copy of the relevant safeguards by emailing hello@prohandlingireland.com.
Cookies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in, remember your language and process payments — these do not require consent. Non-essential cookies (analytics, preference) are only set after you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer. Stripe may set its own cookies on its hosted checkout to detect fraud; see stripe.com/cookie-settings.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, port, restrict, object to processing and erase your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@prohandlingireland.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Retention
Certification records are retained for 7 years to satisfy employer audit requirements. Account data is deleted within 30 days of account closure, except where we are required to keep certification proof.
Right to lodge a complaint
If you believe we have mishandled your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC), 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28 — www.dataprotection.ie — info@dataprotection.ie — +353 (0)761 104 800. You may also complain to the supervisory authority in your EU country of residence.
